Parenting, God's Way

As a parent when my children were growing up, I focused on their educational achievement, to the point of an early retirement to concentrate on their education, to enjoy and guide them in their growing up years. I suffered financially, but no regrets.

Alas, I was misguided. Misguided because I was not trained the Bible way when I was a kid. I don't blame my parents for this because they themselves were not guided. This will go on from generation to generation unless we search for the right way, GOD's way!

Schools are replete with subjects like Math, Reading, Science, and other academic learning, all preparing the citizen for employment, but never one that would prepare them to being a future parent of a good family with God in their midst. (Public schools have catechism, but not all grade levels receive it because of shortage of spiritual teachers.)

The Sunday's "Ang Diyos at ang Bayan" guested a very spiritual couple bringing the idea of including Parenting as a subject in school, A VERY BRIGHT IDEA.  Attention DepEd

Relationship with spouse and children would be harmonious if each member of the family knows their obligation to each other within the framework of the scripture.

A solid, God abiding family,  is the foundation of a prosperous, happy, law abiding nation. God  blesses the nation that is free of corruption, idolaters, murderers, liars, mockers, adulterers, fornicators, persons who dishonor the temple of God (your body being disfigured by tattoo,  piercing) covetors, parent-dishonorable children, superstitious beliefs, sorcerers, gamblers, drunkards, drug users and peddlers,  swindlers, people who are prideful, wrathful, lustful, envious, greedy, avaricious, slothful, malicious, deceitful, arrogant, slanderous, unforgiving, men who have sex with men, men with selfish ambition,

Bible Verses on Sins

You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.  -James 4:4
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. -Matthew 6:14
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. - Ephesians 5:3
“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. -Ephesians 4:26-27
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. - Corinthians 6:9-10
For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.-James 3:16
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. -Ephesians 5:11-12
Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked; for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. -Psalms 37:16-17
What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” -Romans 7:7
Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues. -Proverbs 10:19
