In the early centuries, Christians who did not give up their faith in Christianity were persecuted, tortured and killed by torching them or fed to lions as an entertainment in the sports arena.
In the later centuries, colonizing countries subjected the people who went against them to tortures or killed them by firing squad, Just like Jose Rizal, the Philippines' national hero who was executed in 1896.
Then the use of the guillotine, hanging, electric chair were introduced, all subjecting the criminals to emotional torture and death. Then come the lethal injection, which is considered the most humane form of execution of the condemned person.
Heinous crimes proliferate worldwide: massacre, rape and most of the time the victims end up killed to avoid identification; plunder because of greed; kidnap for ransom because of greed and slothfulness. Do they merit punishment of death?

You would notice that when the perpetrator is apprehended, he has a blank state, does not seem to be himself.
The dark forces do not want to be identified, otherwise, we would believe their presence. A lot is happening in the spiritual realm. There are demonic forces. If there is Jesus Christ who is ready to help us by calling Him, there is Satan, the anti Christ, the adversary of Jesus. ("The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth." - Psalm 145:18 & "Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near." - Isaiah 55:6)
During rapture, Jesus and His Holy Spirit will depart from earth. When this happens, it will be too late to repent.

For nearly 44 years, our God has been warning us to repent. He does not want His sheep lost eternally to Satan. He grieves for hard-headed unbelievers, and the lukewarm Christians. He could not be faulted if the losts are destined eternally in the kingdom of terrible suffering - hell, because all chances were given through the prophets and visionaries on earth.
The second coming of Jesus can no longer be postponed because all would be lost because of the cunning of the master deceiver, Satan.
Daily prayer is needed not only for yourself, but also for the lost.
