There are mothers whose lives are devoted exclusively to the family, her husband and the children, but if the husband dies leaving young children, mothers are not prepared to continue sustaining the children. Some end up giving their children away to the relatives or orphanages. Others who are fortunate enough to go college, find jobs, have a relative take care of the children in their absence.
Some if widowed at an early age, remarry.,
could be either out of love for the guy or for the sake of the children.
Our attention is focused on the children left in the orphanages. Are there statistics why children are in the orphanages? Other than being orphaned because of the death of the parents, or given away by unwed mothers, have we looked into the other reasons like being given away by a widow out of financial difficulty?
How about reaching out to these widows so that their families may still be intact?
This is what God says on widows and orphans :
James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
So it is not only material things that they need, but spiritual help as well.
Other people adopt children in the hope that when the child grows older, the child would be their life support in their senior years.
Others are really selfless, thinking of the child’s welfare in the years to come.
