"Ang Diyos at Bayan", a TV  program by Bro. Eddie Villanueva  I don't want to miss every Sunday at 7am, channel 11.

His guests this morning included former notorious Bimboy Roque, Felix Gaces of Good Shepherd Insurance Services, who rose from poverty to affluence;  and Dolphy Jr. who was incarcerated for 18 years for a crime he did not commit. Their stories were tear jerkers. All stories were life-changing.

Their stories:

  • Bimboy Roque - at the age of 13, he learned to go with "friends" who were "tambays" (no work and just hanging around to pass the time). He went into drug use, hanging around in Rizal Park, joining fights of other people, snatching.

Bimboy soon realized  he was going nowhere with the kind of           life he was leading. He prayed to God to change his situation.           Soon after, he was invited to the youth camp of Jesus is Lord           (JIL). He was enlightened when he joined the camp.

Bimboy now spreads the Word and the goodness of our God.

  • Felix Gaces - at an early age, he experienced  great financial need. Being the eldest  of four siblings from the province, he went to Manila to work as a janitor, then became a security guard. It was during this that he became hopeless so he decided to end his life. Pointing his gun to his head and about to click it, he heard a voice: "Di ba nakita mo yung taong walang kamay at paa na gumagapang sa Quiapo. Di ba nakangiti"  Felix: "Yes, Lord. I am sorry." When Felix said I am sorry, he felt a warm sensation exiting from his body (dark forces.
One week after this incident, he got a promotion. To augment           his income he brought items for sale to different companies.             He attended seminars to upgrade himself in the workplace and         in marketing until his stint in the Good Shepherd Insurance               Services. He joined JIL to connect with  people and share his             testimonies.
  • Dolphy, Jr. - he is the son of the famous late comedian, Dolphy Sr. and yet he was implicated as the arsonist of a subdivision. How could he jump from a high fence with a bucket of gasoline, when he was in crutches. His physician issued a certification that he had an accident requiring him to be implanted with metal in his leg?  This was in 1978, remember martial law, when people were vocal against the government, you expect things to happen such as planting "evidences" to implicate you. Dolphy Jr spent 18 years of his life in prison. But he has forgiven the people who did this horrendous deed to him. Now he is happier devoting his life as a missionary to reach the lost.
All three experienced the ultimate suffering. God allowed this, but if you call Him and ask for forgiveness and forgive the people who have wronged you, your situation will change to a life of comfort, , with peace and joy in your heart.

Each of us has a mission in life. Just ask God what that is.

Congratulations to Bimboy, Felix and Dolphy, Jr. for coming out with your stories.

Also, kudos to Bro. Eddie Villanueva who made a 180 degrees turn from a radical activist/atheist. He was a professor in my alma mater, the Philippine College of Commerce under Dr. Nemencio Prudente. (PCC is now PUP) He is now the head servant of Jesus is Lord.

If ever we need an educated, God loving/fearing person for a president, Bro. Eddie Villanueva is the one who could heal our land through our God Almighty, if he will not be corrupted.
    God bless you all!
