In the Philippines, if a couple reaches their golden (50 years)wedding anniversary, the couple renew their vow, usually having a lavish celebration with all the children and grandchildren in attendance in the entourage. This is a very happy occasion, because both the spouse are usually successful in their own field and so with their children, facing God with their achievements.
There are also cases of separation or the death of a spouse before reaching this stage.
I am not being critical because I am one of those estranged from a spouse, but I noticed that families who have enthroned God in their homes, and follow His precepts tend to succeed in their home lives and the couple is rewarded with long lives. And this is the promise of God.
Psalm 19:7-11
The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving lights to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
enduring forever.
The ordinances of the Lord are sure

They are more precious than gold,

They are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.
By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
Psalm 111:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
All who follow His precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise.
