The Dreaded Stroke

Stroke is a dreaded cardiovascular accident (cva). If not treaTed within three hours from the time it occured, the damage to the cells deprived of oxygen continues until the treatment is done.

I have been suffering from hypertension in my early adult years. It is genetic and exacerbated by stress. Two brothers and three of sisters have it. But I took the advice of Dr. Robin Navarro. a medical specialist on the cellular level, of eating four eggs a day, whey milk, buffalo milk, beef liver, and grass-fed cow bone marrow, my blood pressure has gone down to 120/80; it climbed to 130/90 if I am under stress. In addition to above-mentioned foods, I took fruits and veggies. I exercised daily, and had a good night sleep. However, during the three month period prior to my stroke, I became very careless. I attended a wake up to the following day’s funeral with no sleep for 24 hours and two more days on different occasions with no sleep. Added to this was days of stress.

One morning I found myself passing urine every few minutes. This should alerted me. This happened at 4:00 a.m. I went on with chores in the morning. At 7:00 a bit of slurring of my speech, a short talk with the garbageman. Since he did not make any comment, I did not give any significance to that incident.
One hour after I had my bath, I was alarmed this time because my movement was unsteady. I called my son who was at work, about 20 kms. from our house. He noticed my slurring so he immediately called a cousin to bring me to the hospital immediately.

I was brought to the hospital where his sister works so immediate attention was given to me. Thanks Ken, Camille, Rose, and the doctor who treated me.

My blood pressure was at 202/110, , However, two hours after my son arrived , he asked that I be transferred to another hospital which took 1 ½ hours to transport me by car.
Again 1 ½ valuable hours was lost, exclusive of the interview at the new hospital I was transferred to until treatment was made.
After CT scan, it was found out that I had a blocked vein in the right hemisphere of my brain. Thank God it was not ruptured.
The doctors to the hospital I was transferred to was also good.
The support of relatives and friends was tremendous including church mates.I had lay ministers do the sacrament of healing. Special thanks to my sister Elvie, a nurse who had extensive experience with stroke patients, She flew all the way from England to take care me, also her loving and understanding family.

Hypertension should not be taken lightly. One could die of stroke or heart attack. Praying to GOD and having a healthy lifestyle is a must!

I am now on the road to recovery.

PS Thanks to my son RUSS. Before this event I was asking him to cancel the Medicard because I didn't have any major before illness anyway, and instead get me a pre need memorial service,
He didn’t cancel the health card. The hospitalization cost over a 100k pesos or $2,326.
